“Brian Keating, Professor of Physics at UCSD’s Center for Astrophysics & Space Sciences (CASS), is joining us for a command performance and will talk about advances in computing that, if extrapolated following current trends, will lead almost certainly to simulated forms of existence. Brian Keating is also Co-Director of the Joan & Irwin Jacobs Program in Astrophysics. He has more awards than we could possibly fit here, but one really cool one is a 2006 White House Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists & Engineers.

Sunday Assembly San Diego is a new radically inclusive secular community that meets monthly to hear inspirational talks, connect for service projects, sing songs and generally celebrate life. Assemblies are free to attend, and everyone is welcome. “
